"if you’re not a B5 fan, I would not recommend this little slice of interstitial continuity, because you don’t have a hope of figuring out what’s going on here. But for fans of the series, I think you’ll like it a lot."
and
"So what’s the final verdict on Babylon 5: The Lost Tales, volume one? As a first effort in a new format, there are certainly a few minor flaws, but I imagine most of them will be ironed out in future volumes, and let’s hope this one sells well enough to justify them."

Re: Early Reivew of "The Lost Tales"
Sun, August 5, 2007 - 7:29 PMI just watched it today, and it was MUCH better than I expected. (I think I had lower expectations because there were only two characters from the actual show... well, maybe three, depending on your definitions.) One thing though: For some reason I was expecting it to be a 1 1/2- to 2-hour movie, when it was really basically just two 35-minute episodes, which made things far more anticlimactic than they should have been. If I had been thinking along the lines of two 35-minute episodes while I was watching it, it would have been really great. So keep that in mind when you see it. :) -

Re: Early Reivew of "The Lost Tales"
Sun, August 5, 2007 - 10:11 PMThe first part really disappointed me. The second one was classic though condensed B5.
Over all you could tell that this was not an ensemble cast. There was a lacking sense of people in this that made it feel less like the crowed B5 of the past. I will pick up the next one with hopes of it getting better as they build up some steam behind it.
It could have been much much worst. -

Re: Early Reivew of "The Lost Tales"
Mon, August 13, 2007 - 5:50 PMTo this day i think tracy scoggins is a terrible actor. The actor doing the priest has been around for ages and did a great job and in retrospect the first episode was neat, albeit a bit of a stretch. But then again, faith was a major point thru the whole series.
The second episode was cool, just like the old days. Though i noticed they minimized the amount of sets in both episodes. -

Re: Early Reivew of "The Lost Tales"
Tue, August 14, 2007 - 10:43 AMno disagreement about Scoggins.
Faith has been a thread, but I don't like them "proving" the point by making devils... Aliens with near god like powers sure. Aliens that we think are angel, great stuff. But this puts god and devils in.. Me no liky.

Re: Early Reivew of "The Lost Tales"
Thu, August 16, 2007 - 11:10 PMFrankly, I was disappointed. Not by the stories themselves, but because these weren't the "Lost Tales" I'd been hoping for.
The term "Lost Tales" could have referred to the stories which have been hinted at in the past, or to events that have been partially related in the books, but never fully revealed. The Dilgar War, Vir's recruitment of agents for the Legions of Fire, Why Lou Welch suddenly disappeared from B5, what really happened to Talia Winters, the first arrival of the Centauri in Earth's solar system, Lyta's death in the Telepath War, the final fate of Valen, or even where and when Captain Gideon discovered the cure to the Drakh Plague! These are all stories that should be told, but haven't been.
The Lost Tales could have been so much more than it was! -

Re: Early Reivew of "The Lost Tales"
Fri, August 17, 2007 - 7:05 AMnever heard of the legions of fire, but the rest of the stuff i'd like to hear about. Including forays into Vorlon space, the last moments of Bester, the story about David when he opens the Urn, the driving out of the Drakh from centaur, etc etc. -

Re: Early Reivew of "The Lost Tales"
Sat, August 18, 2007 - 1:44 PMPerosnally i was hoping that Emperior Molari would have done the introduction. I just hope that this is the begining of a whole series of Babylon tales. I still miss the show and when im bored i watch the old series on Dvd

Re: Early Reivew of "The Lost Tales"
Wed, August 22, 2007 - 10:48 AMI can not agree with you more.
My only hope is that this one sold well enough to let them do more, and cover these things.
Some of them would not require the old stars, and thus wouldn't get the same kind of draw I would think.

Re: Early Reivew of "The Lost Tales"
Fri, August 24, 2007 - 3:31 PMFrom one point of view, I was very disappointed. They were a bit short, and lateral to the main story of B5. That said, I know of no other direct to DVD TV show. As an experiment, I hope this works for the studio. They are using us to figure out if this should be a model for the future. They did a minimal production to do it on minimal $'s. No one wanted to be left holding the bag if it doesn't work. So, hopefully, we'll get to see more next time when they've got an idea of market size.

Re: Early Reivew of "The Lost Tales"
Mon, August 27, 2007 - 12:44 PMHmm... I liked "The Lost Tales" and I'm hoping for more. From reading varies articles and interviews, "The Lost Tales" was actually what I was thought it would be. ^_^

Re: Early Reivew of "The Lost Tales"
Wed, September 26, 2007 - 7:00 PMI liked it, for the most part. The first tale was so-so, while the second was classic B5. Scoggins was rusty, but the priest and the possessed guy managed to make the story watchable. Boxleitner was solid, and seemed to slip back into Sheridan as if he never left. Woodward shined as Galen, and makes me wish that this project does well enough so we can see more Galen in the future. The kid who played Vintari did well, but his accent kind of distracted from the performance.
As for what I would like to see in future Lost Tales, I would like to finally see the Crusade storyline wrapped up, the Telepath War, the Dilgar War, a B4-centric story before it went forward in time, and maybe a David Sheridan story.

Re: Early Reivew of "The Lost Tales"
Thu, December 6, 2007 - 1:46 AMI watched them a couple of months ago, and I enjoyed them. It was good to be back in the B5 world and see the old characters. The priest's discursion on how Catholicism has taken a beating from space exploration was great - a real unexpected bit of good old science fiction. I am thinking about using it as a monologue for auditions.

Sat, December 8, 2007 - 5:47 PMThat was the best bit from that story.
It was the reveal that got me sour. -
