At WonderCon last month, JMS had a speaking appearance, and he announced his new projects. They are:
Changeling, a new Clint Eastwood - directed movie due out this fall, about a mother whose kidnapped child is returned to her, but she begins to suspect that the returned child is not in fact hers! JMS reports that this is an "atmosphere" film, with elements of film noir in it (it takes place in the 1930's).
Ninja Assassin, an action film not scheduled for release until next year.
They Marched into Sunlight, a film that is very much a "day in the life of..." style, chronicling events taking place on a single day in the 1960's. He sounded pretty enthusiastic about this, but didn't reveal much about it.
World War Z, a "report of an epic", done in cinematic style dealing with the aftermath of a worlwide zombie epidemic. JMS pointed out that zombie films usually degenerate into a gore-fest, but very few people have ever considered the long-term effects on people or a civilization. The Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder alone would have far-reaching effects, and few survivors would ever really feel safe again. From these insights, I think we can expect a very unusual film, to say the least!

Re: New JMS Projects
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 4:21 PMCan't wait...between Max Brooks' original novel and a screenplay by JMS, WWZ is starting life with a really kick-ass pedigree, AFAIC. :-D
